What do you want to know about Grandma and Grandpa?

Unbeknownst to Brian, Brenda, Bruce and Barbara...I am planning to overwhelm them with questions about Grandma and Grandpa.   I am not sure how much they use the internet, so I am planning to send a survey by mail.
I'll post the questions and their answers.
Right now, I'm wondering:
1) How did Grandma and Grandpa meet?
2) How long were they engaged?  How did Grandpa propose?  What did the engagement ring look like?  (I don't remember Grandma's ring.  Do you?)  Was it an heirloom?
4) Where was the wedding?
3) How long was Grandpa in the Navy?
5) How long did Grandma work at the air force base?  (Did you know that she met Jimmy Stewart?!?)  What did she do there?

What do you want to know about Grandma and Grandpa?

  2. Katy!!! I am thrilled to see a blog like this put together, not to mention a book!!! I have sooo many tender, precious memories of Grandma and Grandpa Brown and their house. I still dream about their house. man, I miss that place!!! It was some of the best times growing up. I always looked forward to going there. I always felt "special" for being a part of the Brown Family in Montpelier. We truly have an amazing family. I am excited to learn more about Grandma and Grandpa Brown. especially Grandpa. I feel like I dont know much about his life. I did interview Grandma Brown when I was a junior in highschool. (1999) It was for a history project. Its on a CD now. I have been meaning to make copies and auction at the Reunion. I am sure it will help for your book.

  3. I asked mom about Grandma's wedding ring last night at dinner. She gave me a funny look and told me that Grandma still has it.
    Boy, do I feel stupid.
We got interrupted, so I didn't get the scoop on where it came from yet.
    Anybody know the story?

  4. You might think about the next reunion getting the four of us together with some questions turn us loose and see where it goes. Maybe tape and transpose the results.

  5. I believe Barb ordered a copy of Dad's service record, which would be neat to see. That would tell you a lot about his service. I do know he crossed the equator a least a couple of times, because he had a picture he told me about. He said when they crossed the equator they would crown a King Neptune. There was a picture or two of that.
